My soul was suffering. My husband and I went on a weekend retreat, where I received a massage. This wasn't my first massage but it changed my life. Was Massage Therapy what I was meant to do? I came home from that weekend and within a month was enrolled at the Louisville School of Massage.
I feel so fortunate to be doing this work. I love learning more all the time. I'm a fairly recent convert to complimentary care. I had never seen a chiropractor until 2003 when I injured my back on a long bike ride. I was still working as a computer consultant and going to massage school. I couldn't afford to be incapacitated with pain. The back pain relief from the chiropractic care was a blessing but I also realized that my allergy problems had disappeared as well as my daily "acid reflux." The anatomy and physiology required for massage school was fascinating. It opened my mind to how the body works. I couldn't get enough information. We changed food choices and found remarkable results in our child and ourselves.
A whole new world was opening to me or more accurately I was open to it.
Your body is always trying to heal itself. I feel blessed to be any part of that effort. My basic training was in Swedish massage and includes work with fibromyalgia syndrome, impact injuries such as whiplash, sports injuries, TMJ dysfunction and trigger points. I combine techniques I've learned to help you reach your health goals.
