Dennette de la Houssaye, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist
Dennette is a licensed massage therapist (LMT). She graduated from the Stillpoint Wellness Center & Louisville School of Massage in 1997. After graduation she began assistant teaching at LSM. She was promoted as one of the primary instructors. Part of her duties was to schedule students to perform on-site massage at various community events. Some of which included the Tour de Heart, Relay for Life, Kentucky Derby Mini-Marathon and various local health fairs.
In addition to teaching she also began working for a highly recognized neurologist who specialized in pain management. She performed deep tissue massage on many patients who had various levels of pain and some requiring post-injection therapy. Because of her prior degree as a paralegal, she was also involved in managing correspondence with multiple attorneys, insurance carriers and patients.
In March 2002 she began working for a young chiropractic office and help build and maintain massage therapy patients. She also assisted in patient care and electrotherapy, ultrasound, and nutritional consults. Due to her extensive training, she is able to personalize each individual massage therapy session in order to provide the most beneficial therapy for the individual. Her training includes:
Trigger Point Therapy
Deep Tissue Massage
Swedish Massage
Post Traumatic Injury Massage (scar tissue)
Myofascial Release
Reflexology
Hot Stone Massage
Dennette has been performing massage therapy on a full time basis since 1997. During that time she has treated clients from infants to the elderly with an extensive array of treatment modalities.
While massage therapy is an extremely beneficial treatment it may be necessary to facilitate the use of our other highly trained professionals in the multidisciplinary center in order to advance the healing process for the patient and their overall optimal health.
Education is high on Dennette's list of managing her clients. She believes it is important for the client to understand they are the ones that have the control in improving their quality of life and she acts as just one of the many catalysts needed to reach optimal health.
