CAROL CORNETT, MSN
Carol received her undergraduate degree (BSN-1985) and her master degree (MSN-2007) from Spalding University in Louisville, KY. She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau (International Honors Nursing Society) and was selected as a “Who’s Who Among College Students” 2005-2007. She has over 25 years of nursing experience managing acute/chronic illness and promoting preventative wellness throughout the life span including women, men, children, teen, and mental health, substance abuse/addiction, and obesity and its related disease processes. She has worked to develop community fitness programs the promote diet and exercise as cornerstones of health. She is a certified American Lung Association smoking cessation class facilitator and has helped hundreds of people “kick the habit.” She has a special interest in preventative medicine allowing patients to participate in their care by including them in their treatment plan development. She is also interested in obesity and diabetes disease process and management.
As a Family Nurse Practitioner she is licensed to perform physical exams, order diagnostic lab and radiographic tests and order prescription medications. She manages acute illness like you might find in the ear, nose, or throat, and chronic illnesses such as asthma or high blood pressure. She is goal oriented and loves to teach. She is determined to provide you with the best care possible by utilizing a unique approach to healthcare by blending traditional and holistic medicines to promote optimal wellness. Carol believes in exploring the underlying root cause of all disease and how this impacts the whole self. She listens and she cares.
In her free time, Carol enjoys spending time with family, reading, horses, hiking, and escaping to nature as much as possible.
Carol is currently accepting new patients ages 2 years and up. She accepts most insurance. |
